Do not choose a custom partner from a single render or headline price alone. The more useful question is whether they can explain your artwork, intended use and production risks clearly.

Start with how the project is understood

Useful early discussion is not only an immediate price. It confirms artwork, intended size, estimated quantity, use case and non-negotiable details, because these conditions affect pattern, material, methods and the production path together.

Check whether sample approval has a clear reference

Sampling should support concrete discussion of silhouette, proportion, expression, fabric and key techniques. The project should also define which item, images or files will serve as production references after approval, instead of relying only on “make it like the sample.”

Do not compare unit prices in isolation

The same artwork can be quoted differently because of materials, construction, methods, prototype revisions, packing and inspection. Ask about those conditions separately to ensure the quotes describe the same project.

Clarify confidentiality before work begins

Original IP, unreleased products and order information may be commercially sensitive. Confirm how artwork, sample photos and project information may be used, whether they can be published and who can authorize publication.
