How should an approval sample be reviewed before bulk production?

An approval sample records the appearance, materials and key methods that both sides accept. It is more than saying “looks fine” from one photo.

Separate resemblance from reproducibility

A sample should show whether the character is represented correctly and whether those details can be carried through production as agreed. Silhouette, features, fabric, seam placement and components may affect both questions at once.

Review appearance in priority order

Check overall proportion, silhouette and expression before color, fabric texture and small details. Reviewing only one photograph can miss changes at the side, base or after stuffing.

Write changes in a usable way

When changes are needed, describe where, what and why: for example eye spacing, ear angle, embroidery placement or fabric effect. This keeps revision discussion tied to the same physical issue instead of vague back-and-forth.

Keep the right references after approval

The approved item, photos, material notes and key changes are all useful references. Each project should also define which files, versions and sign-off method govern production.

A practical review order

Overall proportion and standing, sitting or hanging state.
Facial expression, left-right balance and key recognition features.
Fabric, color, embroidery, printing, components and labels.
Packing or accessories included in the project agreement.
