Longer pile is not automatically softer or better

Pile changes surface appearance, touch, cut edges, embroidery clarity and the sewn silhouette. Short surfaces preserve expressions; longer surfaces create fluff but need clear zones around defining features.

Treat trade specifications as starting labels

Terms such as 1, 1.5, 3, 5 and 10 pile can vary by supplier, base cloth, density and finishing. Review the actual swatch and its sewn behavior rather than selecting from the label alone.

Common fabric families

Crystal super-soft, Anlun super-soft, PV plush, velboa, sherpa, corduroy, velvet, flocked and suede-like fabrics serve different visual and structural needs. Leqiqu keeps 18+ fabric types in regular stock, subject to project fit.

Evaluate each product area

A face may need clarity while the body needs volume. Ears, garments and accessories can use another surface, but combined materials still need checks for color, stretch and seam behavior.

Pile, size and visual result

Pile changes not only touch but silhouette edges, embroidery visibility, seam lines and perceived volume. Face, body, ears and garments may use different surfaces, but backing stretch must be compatible.

Initial use of common pile labels
LabelStarting useRisk
1Faces and dense detail around 10 cmFlat surface may change intended touch
1.5Regular face/body at 10–15 cmDirection and embroidery edges still matter
3Body or local volume at 15–20 cmMay soften mouth and seam definition
5Selective visible furMay require trimming around features
10Special long-fur effectCan transform overall silhouette

Material approval record

Crystal super-soft, Anlun super-soft, PV plush, velboa, sherpa, corduroy, velvet, flocked and suede-like names must point to actual swatches. Record colour, direction, density, backing stretch, use area and substitution rules.

A screen cannot approve physical colour or hand feel. Retain sample material references and check production fabric before it changes face shape, proportion or embroidery.

  • Start with size and recognition features
  • Check whether pile covers the face
  • Review backing stretch and seams
  • Approve physical colour and feel
  • Record batch and substitution handling

Additional project control

This page also uses a project-control layer: confirm the actual artwork, finished size, physical fabric, technique files, approved sample and target-market scope before production. The Chinese edition contains the detailed factory-side mechanism notes; the English edition is written around the same buyer decisions rather than presented as a literal translation.
